ABSTRACT

Worldwide, there is an increase in the shortage of medical supplies due to the global health situation Covid-19. Therefore, it is important to implement methodologies that improve and optimize the management of medical supplies from their purchase, storage and distribution process within these centers. In this sense, the aim of this article is to analyze the relationship between logistics management, the level of supply of medical centers and the level of service provided to patients. Based on this, a study is made of a maternal and child polyclinic in the city of Lima, which has an availability level of 83.51%, which does not reflect an optimal level. Consequently, classification tools are implemented using the ABC-VED matrix and the Inventory Control System. Complementing it with the application of Good Storage Practices and Lean tools such as 5S and Standardization of work to conclude the proposal for improvement in the logistics management of this particular medical center. © 2022 ACM.

ABSTRACT

The pharmaceutical supply chain is very crucial for the overall industry. A crucial role is played by the Indian Pharmaceuticals industry when we consider the global pharmaceuticals industry. Indian pharmaceutical industry fulfils a large portion of the global pharmaceutical demand. After Covid-19 pandemic, many retail outlets have mushroomed everywhere in India though it is good for the business development, it puts a lot of pressure on the existing infrastructure of the supply chain. The level of responsiveness of the supply chain determines how quickly it can satisfy consumer demand. The pharmaceutical industry is ensuring good service levels as it operates at a 95 percent service level. This research paper identifies challenges in pharmaceutical supply chain. Researcher also narrowed down these challenges into two as Supply chain responsiveness and Service level. Here researcher suggested that to enhance Supply chain responsiveness and Service level, pharmaceutical industry should apply new techniques such as AI & ML. ABSTRACT

As the outbreak of COVID-19, the high-risk medical wastes increase rapidly, which inevitably has a great impact on the existing medical system. To contain the epidemic, this paper aims to establish a function for evaluating the emergency service level, so as to quantize the emergency risk and save the cost. In addition, this paper also predicts the spread of COVID-19 in epidemic areas through using the SEIRD dynamic model, in order to provide a theoretical decision-making framework for the selection of the sites of medical transfer centers, so the proposed emergency logistics network model is more in line with the real needs. This paper, taking COVID-19 in Wuhan as an example, shows that the flexible sites and number of transfer centers are more effective in relieving the uplifting medical wastes. © 2022 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

ABSTRACT

According to recent research, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted road traffic quality. This study aims to analyze the impacts of COVID-19 travel restriction policies on the traffic quality of the national and provincial trunk highway network (NPTHN) in Shaanxi Province. We collected the traffic data of the NPTHN for three consecutive years (from 2019 to 2021), before and after the COVID-19 outbreak, including weekly average daily traffic, weekly traffic interruption times, weekly traffic control time, weekly traffic accidents, weekly traffic injuries, and weekly traffic deaths. Using descriptive statistics and dynamic analysis methods, we studied the safety and service levels of the NPTHN. We set up an assessment model of the NPTHN operational orderliness through dissipative structure theory and entropy theory to study the operational orderliness of the NPTHN. Results show that in 2020, the service level, safety level, and operational orderliness of the NPTHN dropped to the lowest levels. The pandemic was gradually brought under control, and the travel restriction policies were gradually reduced and lifted. The adverse impacts on the operational orderliness of the NPTHN decreased, but the operational orderliness did not yet recover to the pre-pandemic level. Meanwhile, the service and safety levels of the NPTHN did not recover. Taken together, the COVID-19 travel restriction policies had adverse impacts on the traffic quality of the NPTHN in Shaanxi Province.

ABSTRACT

Cashless payment methods are growing in popularity, especially in the backdrop of the COVID19 pandemic. Credit cards are a key instrument within the cashless payment. Retail practitioners try to boost their sales by providing credit card-based promotions to customers. The tendency for customers to overspend when using credit cards is to the advantage of retailers. Retailers claim that the credit card promotions result in a sales increment of 250%. Along with the sales boost, retail stores encounter frequent stockouts and decreasing service levels. This is primarily due to the inaccurate ordering process. This paper provides a framework to set the reorder level considering the sales uplift due to credit card promotions. For the selected case scenario, the proposed framework helps to increase the retail store service level by 0.78%.

ABSTRACT

Sanitization having a Lion Share of Attention on a Global dais in all the three-time zone Pre-COVID, COVOID, and Post-COVID is a matter of concern, especially for countries, which in the pre-era were striving hard to achieve it. Indian Government knitting the Spheris of Central and State Government has in the recent past shown bend towards the burning issue of Municipal Solid Waste Management. The Government had launched the schemes Swatch Bharat Mission, and it has been successful but is still on the backstage of its optimal potential as the basic motor of planning, i.e., “Master Plan” is missing in tier II and III cities when it comes to execution of such schemes. An attempt has been made in this paper to prepare a comprehensive plan for Dehradun city of Uttarakhand named “Solid waste Management Master Plan for Dehradun City 2041”. The following study will provide a complete spectrum approach towards the management of each component of Municipal Solid Waste Management of the city, including Waste Generation, Collection, Transportation, Treatment, and Disposal. Also, a service Level Benchmarking of both the Existing and Proposed System has been done to quantify the Output of the proposals and recommendations in the Existing System. Software such as GIS, GPS, and Remote Sensing is used in the study and has given an extra edge of Real-time and locational management for the Waste Management system of Dehradun until 2041. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
